Just watched Simon Tofield’s lastest episode of the series. Each animation is truly hilarious! They remind me of Arson and Audrey!! Minus the mewing. Hahaha

Went down to the US Embassy today to get my visa done. I was a little stressed because I was worried that i might not have brought all the documents required. With mum out of town for business, i was concerned about what to do if they asked for additional financial documents! I got even more stressed when I saw two people get their visas rejected and one of them breaking down in tears. Yikes! After that, the tension level in the waiting room increased tenfold. It was also a little embarrassing because everyone could hear the entire interview process. No privacy!
Oh well, in the end, my visa was approved on the spot so yay!
My powerbook charge has melted. YUP! It melted. I was wondering why it was not working and realized there was a brown mark plus exposed wires. Yikes! Later, I read reviews saying that its pretty common for it to melt after a while. Big sigh. I’ve had to change my battery (it expanded) and now my charger (it melted.) I love my powerbook but I hope nothing else happens -_-
I dropped by Funan to buy a replacement charger but…it was closed! Went to Wheelock after that..closed also! Oh my…what bad luck! Of all days that they had to do a stock take… I’m not sure when I will be able to go down and I can easily predict that my computer usage for these few days will go down by A LOT
Its dog show day today! Although we will not be showing Audrey today, it’s better that she gets a bath before going to the show. Better to look cleaner! LOL. We bathe the dogs about once every two months and honestly, besides a rinse from after they swam at Mutts and Mittens, they have not had baths since the previous show held in April.
Anway, i was disinfecting the grooming table (although the only animals that go on it are my pets, or pets familiar to me, i always disinfect the table before any other animal goes onto it), when it collasped onto my foot! I did not set it up as tightly as i normally do as i had intended to move the table and hence did not set it up properly. Big mistake. Sigh…I caught one side of the table as it fell and one of the table legs swung onto my foot leaving a gash. I thought it was just a slight gash and left it alone, continuing to set up the table, gather the grooming tools, blower, towels etc but my foot started having this cold sensation. I looked down at my foot and opps! Blood was dripping out. Yikes! Ran to get some antiseptic spray, plastered it than went on to bathe the doggies.
Oh well, it didn’t cause any pain till it was time to sleep and i could feel it throbbing a little. Haiz.. I guess this incident is telling me that I must be more careful next time.
I wish there was a Pet Passport system here in Singapore. They do it overseas so that dogs that have to travel frequently between countries would not need to be quarantined or have detailed vet check ups. Oh well, doubt that it will happen in Singapore anytime soon.
My next wish is that AVA would no longer require quarantine for dogs from Japan. It was in the news in 2007 that they were going to increase the number of quarantine exempt countries but till now it has not happened! I’ve heard that it will be announced soon but am wondering…how soon!?!?
Its only May but i have been busy planning my trip. Waiting for some official documents to arrive before i can really heave a sigh of relief. I will be happier when everything is in place.
Made arrangements to go to a couple of shows-both dog and rabbits. I’m trying to squeeze in as many shows as possible, but if i was to cram in every show i wanted to go to, I would never be able to come back! But, at least i have made arrangements to go to the larger dog/rabbit shows – the Westminster dog show 2009, and the ARBA convention 2008.
These 2 shows really make my trip all the more exciting! I never thought i would go to Convention, but by a stroke of luck, its being held near (well, relatively speaking..LOL) where i will be staying!
Bluegrass Classics, Cleveland shows, Florida shows, Chicago International Shows..all these still pending! I’m not sure how much time i can take off school!
The word Dreyson is a combination between Audrey and Arson’s names. The drey from Audrey and the son from Arson. It is pronounced Drayson.
Its not terribly creative and i think The Hidden Burrow sounds better but both have meanings behind them. Dreyson because Audrey and Arson will be our foundation and The Hidden Burrow because….. well…. I know what it means but i think it’s more fun for people to guess. Lol
The current weather can only be described with one word. Miserable.
It’s just so HOT HOT HOT! Its not good for cold weather loving humans like me, my wooferines AND my bunnies.
It will be good when I finally leave town in end Aug/ early Sept and arrive in temperatures of about 10 degrees. It will be -3 by the time January rolls around. Yikes! I’ll love the weather but its pretty sad leaving all my pets behind…not to mention my family. ROTFL
Anyway, I’ll be back soon enough and that’s be the start of something entirely new.
Mood today: Bleh
I loooove it! Yummy….. This is my staple drink whenever I visit Japan but for some reason, I have never tried finding it in Singapore. Coincidentally, I saw it at the supermarket I frequent and bought 3 bottles(they only had 3..sob) of it on Saturday. There is only one left now..yikes! Need to buy more ASAP.
I’m rehoming most of my rabbits now as I have to go to the US for a course. It is not feasible for them to be put into long term boarding and the best way seems to be to rehome them.
This doesn’t mean that I have lost interest or am never going to keep rabbits again. This just means a fresh start when I come back. A start from the bottom all over again. I’ll still have my cages and supplies so that is a foundation. I might just do more breeds and just have a pair or trio of each breed.
Something exciting that will be happening is that while I am in the US, I will be going to convention. Yup, the famous ARBA convention! Site of the show bunnies…where bunnies of almost every breed will be present and where quality can be seen first hand. It is the rabbit version of Westminster, the creme of the crop will be there. And, I’ve arranged to meet some breeders there and to send some rabbits back. Woohoo!
I might be buying holland lops from breeders who have consistently been in the top 10 placing and have been recognized as some of the best HL breeders there are in the US. I am also interested in getting some nds and afls. I might also help some friends get rabbits so if there is anyone interested in joining in this shipment, do email me at thehiddenburrow@yahoo.com.sg for more information. Any recognized breed and colour is possible. Word of warning here though…..It will definitely cost a BOMB as prices of rabbits go up by double or triple at convention.
